We are looking for an experienced academic scribe to provide occasional, ad hoc support to a leading academic and author. The work will be carried out live via Zoom with a shared screen, working alongside the academic as he develops and dictates material for journal articles and other academic work.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with academics, researchers, authors or publishers
- Has a good understanding of academic writing and conventions
- Has excellent typing skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Is confident with footnotes, references and bibliographies
- Has experience with academic footnote/reference software
- Is highly proficient in Microsoft Word
- Is comfortable working collaboratively and accurately in real time
- Understands the importance of discretion and confidentiality
- A degree or academic background would be advantageous
- Use of Oxford style footnotes beneficial
This is flexible, project-based freelance work, initially supporting the preparation of a journal article, with the potential for further assignments.
