We are looking for a qualified lawyer with up to 2 years' PQE to join our London office. This is a unique opportunity to combine superb client exposure and quality legal work with a commercial, entrepreneurial role and regular interaction with key players in the funds industry.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with up to 2 years' PQE in a similar role, either in private practice or in-house.
- Experience and knowledge of the laws and regulations impacting financial services providers and investment management businesses.
- Familiarity with UCITS, AIFMD and their evolving regulatory, compliance and governance environment; covering a variety of fund product types and asset classes is preferable.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic business and regulatory environment.
- Contract negotiation skills.
- Fluent English (written and spoken) essential; additional languages are an asset.
Responsibilities
- Support the business from a legal and regulatory perspective in the United Kingdom.
- Advise and assist on the formation, launch, registration and distribution of various fund structures, both UCITS and AIFs.
- Assist with onboarding new clients, including integration with our highly successful ManCo service offering.
- Draft and negotiate various agreements and fund documentation (e.g., Management Company/AIFM and investment management agreements, prospectus, constitutional documents, administration and distribution agreements).
- Assist and support the business generally, including managing regulatory issues and presenting internally on relevant updates.
- Liaise with external legal advisers and/or client counsel.
- Assist with drafting and implementing regulatory documents.
- Complete ad-hoc projects as required.
