Life Sciences Consultant, Management Consulting in London

Our Life Sciences practice operates at the intersection of health systems and industry, partnering with global pharmaceutical companies at the EUCan and global level and engaging earlier in the product lifecycle, increasingly two to five years ahead of launch. Our ambition is to reach £10m in Life Sciences revenues by 2030, with the majority of that growth coming from beyond the UK.

By joining our team as a Consultant in our Life Sciences practice, you will become part of a group of consultants committed to improving health and care for all. You will engage senior client stakeholders across global and regional (EUCan/EMEA) teams, franchise leadership, market access and medical affairs, alongside the health systems, payors and regulators that shape access to their products. You’ll own workstreams end-to-end, produce client-ready outputs, contribute to proposals, and engage directly with clients, helping to deliver solutions that improve population health.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Plan elements of problem solving for own workstream and making effective use of leadership time.
• Contribute effectively to problem solving through independently structuring and conducting analysis and research within a workstream.
• Apply analysis and evidence to real client challenges in life sciences, such as accelerating the adoption of a new medicine, generating real-world evidence, or building the case for patient access and reimbursement.
• Develop high-quality, client ready end products with minimal correction required.
• Communicate effectively with clients across a range of media, including participating in stakeholder engagement with senior audiences across global and regional life sciences teams.
• Understand contribution of own work to overall project timeline and effectively manage and prioritise tasks, appropriately flagging risks and escalations including capacity.
• Build and nurture constructive relationships with individuals from previous, existing and new clients.
• Contribute to high-quality proposals for existing and new clients, and support responses to competitive tenders.
• Work independently and contribute effectively in a team, supporting analysts in applying the consulting toolkit.

To be successful in this role, you are likely to have a combination of the following:

• Minimum 2:1 graduate degree in a clinical, scientific or health economics discipline.
• Commercial experience within strategy or management consulting, demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of the life sciences sector.
• Experience working with global or EUCan pharmaceutical clients, or a demonstrable understanding of how life sciences companies operate beyond the UK.
• Ability to think strategically and support the development of comprehensive plans to address complex life sciences and healthcare challenges.
• Project management skills to deliver within own workstream to overall project timelines.
• Proficiency in research and data analysis, with the ability to collect, interpret, and leverage complex data sets for informed decision-making.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to present findings and establish and nurture client relationships.
• Demonstration of business development acumen, such as contributing to high-quality proposals.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends and best practices.
• Willingness and ability to travel.
