Join the Revolution in Car Finance at Carmoola, where we’re changing the way people get on the road – making it faster, fairer, and entirely built around the customer. We’ve started with car finance, reimagining it from the ground up with a seamless, digital experience that puts drivers in control. Since launch, we’ve raised over £540m from top-tier investors, helped over 15,000 customers get behind the wheel – and we’re scaling fast.

Your Mission: You’ll take the lead on collections operations at Carmoola – shaping the strategy, setting up robust processes, and leading day-to-day execution as we scale. From building compliant, customer-centric collections journeys to embedding best-in-class auto finance collections practices, you’ll be the operational authority in this space. You’ll manage and develop our existing Collections team member and work closely with Credit Risk, Customer Operations, Product and Compliance to ensure our collections activities are effective, fair, and scalable.

This is a high-impact role for someone who knows auto finance collections inside out, enjoys building from scratch, and is always looking for ways to automate and streamline processes.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Own collections operations and processes – Evolve Carmoola’s end-to-end collections approach across early and late-stage arrears, aligned with FCA expectations and best practice recovery rates in auto finance.
  • Build scalable processes – Create clear, repeatable collections workflows, policies and controls that will stand up as volumes grow, focusing on automation at every turn.
  • Lead and develop the team – Line-manage and coach our existing Collections team member, setting clear expectations, KPIs and development plans, with scope to grow the team over time.
  • Be the in-house expert – Act as the go-to authority on collections, bringing proven auto finance knowledge into a business that’s building this capability for the first time.
  • Work cross-functionally – Partner closely with Credit Risk, Customer Operations, Product and Compliance to design collections journeys, monitoring and controls that balance performance with fairness.
  • Drive performance with data – Monitor arrears, roll rates, cure rates and recoveries; identify issues early and continuously improve outcomes.
  • Ensure regulatory excellence – Embed FCA-compliant, customer-first collections practices, ensuring policies, scripts and processes meet regulatory expectations.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Collections experience – Around 3+ years’ experience in collections, with strong exposure to auto finance or secured lending.
  • Proven process builder – You’ve set up or significantly improved collections processes before, not just operated within them.
  • Operational leadership – Experience managing or mentoring others, with confidence setting standards and holding performance.
  • Strong regulatory grounding – A solid understanding of FCA expectations around collections, forbearance and treating customers fairly.
  • Commercial judgement – You understand the balance between customer outcomes, regulatory compliance and business performance.
  • Comfort with ambiguity – You’re happy being the first specialist in a function, making decisions and building structure where little exists.
  • Ownership mindset – Highly autonomous, pragmatic, and willing to roll your sleeves up to get things done.

Genuine excitement for Carmoola’s mission and the chance to build something meaningful in a fast-growing fintech.
