CarmichaelUK is working with contractors delivering marine and off‑shore works on the Sizewell C project and is seeking a keen Site Engineer to support the delivery of complex marine civils packages. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer with experience in marine environments, temporary works, piling, and high‑compliance infrastructure projects. There will be an element of working off‑shore and staying on a barge.
As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the technical delivery of marine and off‑shore works, ensuring construction activities are safely planned, accurately executed, and fully compliant with project requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Checking and overseeing marine and coastal civils works.
- Supporting the construction of marine outfalls, sea defences, temporary works, and reinforced concrete structures.
- Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, method statements and permits.
- Producing and maintaining site documentation including RAMS, ITPs, permits, inspections, and as‑built records.
- Coordinating with marine contractors, plant operators, and site management teams.
- Supporting temporary works procedures and liaising with design teams as required.
- Promoting high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
- Assisting with planning, phasing and sequencing of works in a marine environment.
About You
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on marine, coastal or heavy civils projects.
- Strong background in reinforced concrete, earthworks, groundworks and temporary works.
- Comfortable working in high‑compliance environments including off‑shore and major civil engineering.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive and practical approach to site delivery.
- Effective communicator, able to work closely with supervisors, engineers and contractors.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Essential: CSCS Card
- Desirable: SMSTS or SSSTS Marine civils or offshore project experience
