We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent to join our delivery team on the HS2 project in Chipping Warden. The successful candidate will support the management and delivery of highways and drainage works, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality construction in line with HS2 requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Site Agent and Project Manager in the day-to-day delivery of highways and drainage works.
- Manage site activities including earthworks interfaces, road construction, surface water and foul drainage, attenuation systems, and associated civils.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure programme, quality, and productivity targets are met.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with design specifications, HS2 standards, and relevant highways regulations.
- Oversee health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance, promoting a strong safety culture.
- Assist in the preparation and review of RAMS, permits, and temporary works documentation.
- Monitor progress, produce site reports, and contribute to short-term planning and sequencing.
- Support quality assurance processes including inspections, testing, and as-built records.
- Liaise with designers, client representatives, and stakeholders to resolve technical and operational issues.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Sub Agent or Senior Site Engineer on highways and drainage projects.
- Experience working on major infrastructure schemes; HS2 experience highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of highways construction standards and drainage systems.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts and collaborative project environments.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- CSCS card essential; SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid preferred.
- Full UK driving licence.
