CarmichaelUK is working with a leading contractor delivering works across a UK wide Airport Framework, and is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support both pre‑construction and delivery of airfield infrastructure works across multiple UK airport locations. This role would suit a driven Project Manager with strong experience in airfield, surfacing, and infrastructure projects, who is comfortable working in both planning and delivery environments. You will play a key role across both pre‑construction and live delivery phases, supporting the successful execution of airfield maintenance and infrastructure programmes.
Pre-Construction Responsibilities
- Supporting tendering activity across AGS and Stansted frameworks
- Assisting the Design Manager with technical submissions
- Working with planners on methodology and scheduling
- Reviewing subcontractor quotations alongside estimators to ensure alignment with scope
Delivery Responsibilities
- Leading and coordinating delivery of airfield maintenance works, including surfacing, pavement and AGL repairs on taxiways and runways
- Managing delivery of resurfacing and pavement (PQ) projects and standalone packages
- Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and support functions (commercial, planning, delivery)
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme and client requirements
- Supporting night and weekend operations where required for live airfield works
About You
- Proven experience as a Senior Agent or Project Manager within infrastructure or civil engineering
- Experience delivering works within airfield or airport environments
- Strong understanding of surfacing, pavements, infrastructure and maintenance works
- Ability to work across both pre‑construction and delivery phases
- Flexible and adaptable, with willingness to travel across multiple airport locations
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence
- CSCS (Black preferred)
- SMSTS
- Ability to obtain airside pass
Desirable Experience / Certifications
- Airfield or aviation civils experience
- Surfacing and pavement (PQ) experience
- Pre‑construction / tendering experience
- Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC)
- Lifting Appointed Person
