CarmichaelUK is recruiting for a Site Engineer to work night shifts on a major highways infrastructure project. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a Tier 1 contractor delivering key works on the UK road network.
We’re looking for a hands-on engineer with strong setting out capabilities, ideally with Trimble experience, and who holds EUSR CAT 1 and 2 certification.
Key Responsibilities:- Setting out for Technology, Street Lighting, and Traffic Signal installation & cabling
- Preparing and briefing permits to dig and other relevant documentation
- Daily reporting of progress and site activities
- Ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and in line with programme and spec
- Liaising with site teams and subcontractors to ensure coordinated delivery
- EUSR CAT 1 & 2 – Essential
- Proven setting out experience (Trimble preferred)
- Strong understanding of street works and technology-related installations
- Comfortable working night shifts and in live highway environments
- CSCS card required
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
