Setting Out/Site Engineer

Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Site Engineer with strong setting out experience to join the delivery team on the prestigious HS2 project in Buckinghamshire. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Setting out for civil engineering works including earthworks, structures, drainage, and utilities.

Interpreting drawings and ensuring accurate levels, alignments, and dimensions.

Carrying out surveys, as-built checks, and maintaining accurate site records.

Supporting site management and supervising subcontractors to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Assisting with permits, ITPs, and QA documentation.

Collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and site teams to deliver works efficiently and safely.

About You

Proven experience as a Site Engineer on large civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

Demonstrable expertise in setting out using Trimble / Leica equipment.

HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

Valid CSCS card and awareness of health, safety, and environmental best practice. xiskglj

Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Previous experience on major rail, highways, or earthworks projects preferred
