An opportunity exists for a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a major infrastructure project supporting the commercial delivery of major civils, earthworks, and structural packages under the NEC contract form. You’ll be part of a collaborative, high-performing commercial team, ensuring value, compliance, and effective cost control across key construction phases. You will carry out tasks independently as well as be involved in leading a small group of commercial staff.

Your duties will include:

  • Prepare and agree variation accounts for main contract and sub-contracts.
  • Monitor cost against targets and contract progress against accepted programmes and work plans in conjunction with other team disciplines.
  • Provide input into change control procedures for EOT, delays and performance adjustment.
  • Prepare and agree interim valuations, final valuations, final accounts and sub-contract final accounts.
  • Prepare and issue certification and payment of sub-contractors.
  • Provide contractual advice to management (ensure compliance with contract and legal administration obligations e.g. Timely issue of relevant notices).
  • Negotiate and progress the resolution of any disputes and identify potential commercial risks and evaluate options for their control and management.

Requirements for this opportunity include:

  • Quantity Surveying degree or similar.
  • Enrolled or seeking membership of a relevant professional institution (CICES, RICS or similar).
  • Previous experience on major civil engineering infrastructure projects within the UK.
  • Competent in the use of the NEC suite of contracts.
  • Successful experience at project Quantity Surveyor level, displaying skill in delivering a positive commercial outcome for the projects with which you have been associated.
