We're recruiting a Section / Senior Engineer to join a Tier 1 Contractor delivering a major road and bridge infrastructure scheme. This is a long-term contract opportunity offering stability on a flagship project.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day engineering delivery of your section, ensuring works are completed safely, to programme and to the required quality standards. You'll carry out all the usual responsibilities expected of a Section/Senior Engineer on a major highways project.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing engineering activities for your section of works.
- Setting out, QA, record keeping and as-built documentation.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical information.
- Producing RAMS, ITPs and permits where required.
- Managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities.
- Ensuring health, safety, quality and environmental standards are maintained.
- Liaising with site management, design teams and the client.
- Supporting programme delivery and resolving engineering issues.
About You
- Previous experience working as a Section Engineer or Senior Engineer on highways, roads or bridge projects.
- Strong setting out and quality assurance experience.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Able to work collaboratively with site teams and stakeholders.
- Ideally experienced as a Buried Services Coordinator, with knowledge of utility coordination, surveys and avoiding service clashes (desirable but not essential).
- Must live within a commutable distance of the project.
