Carmichael UK is recruiting for an experienced Quality Manager to join a major infrastructure redevelopment project within a live MOD environment in Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity to lead quality assurance activities on a high-profile defence project and play a key role in driving compliance, continuous improvement, and quality performance.
Security Requirements
Due to the nature of this project, applicants must be British Nationals and eligible to obtain BPSS and SC Security Clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Establish and monitor quality objectives aligned to project and business goals
- Lead internal and external audits and certification processes
- Manage and develop the quality team
- Oversee quality investigations and corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, client requirements and regulatory obligations
- Produce quality performance reports for senior stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and quality-focused risk management activities
- Promote a strong quality culture across the project
Requirements
- Professionally qualified Quality or Construction Manager with significant industry experience
- Degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, Quality or a related discipline
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification
- IOSH Managing Safely
- CSCS White PQP/AQP Card
- CSCS Manager Card
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and compliance requirements
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience of audit management, continuous improvement and quality assurance within major infrastructure or construction projects
