We are recruiting experienced Quality Engineers to join a specialist reinforced concrete structures subcontractor delivering a major Carbon Capture project. This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the UK's most significant low-carbon infrastructure developments, ensuring the highest standards of quality assurance, compliance and technical excellence throughout project delivery.
The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing project quality procedures, managing inspection and test plans, reviewing construction documentation and ensuring works are completed in accordance with specifications, industry standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain project Quality Assurance procedures.
- Prepare, review and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Review and approve construction RAMS from a quality perspective.
- Carry out site inspections and quality audits of RC structures and associated works.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, standards and client requirements.
- Maintain quality records and handover documentation.
- Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
- Support quality investigations and root cause analysis.
- Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants and third-party inspectors.
- Review reinforcement, formwork and concrete placement records.
- Monitor subcontractor quality performance.
- Produce quality reports and KPI information for project management teams.
- Support project handover and completion documentation.
- Ensure all quality documentation is controlled and up to date.
- Promote continuous improvement and quality best practice across the project.
Requirements
- Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Previous experience as a Quality Engineer, QA Engineer or Quality Assurance Engineer.
- Strong experience on reinforced concrete structures, heavy civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with ITPs, quality plans, NCRs and technical assurance documentation.
- Understanding of construction RAMS and quality compliance processes.
- Experience carrying out site inspections and quality audits.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong document control and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Desirable
- Carbon Capture, Energy, Process Plant, Nuclear, Petrochemical or Major Infrastructure project experience.
- Internal Auditor qualification.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- CSCS Card.
- Temporary Works awareness.
- Experience managing quality records and handover documentation.
