Carmichael UK are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer with structures experience to join a major HS2 project based in Buckinghamshire. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes, delivering complex reinforced concrete and structural packages within a high-performing project team. We are looking for a proactive engineer with a strong background in heavy civil engineering structures who can support the safe and efficient delivery of works on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting out for structural works including reinforced concrete, foundations, retaining structures and associated infrastructure
- Interpreting technical drawings, specifications and design information
- Managing quality assurance processes and ensuring works are delivered to specification
- Producing and maintaining accurate site records and as-built documentation
- Preparing and reviewing ITPs, RAMS and inspection records
- Coordinating subcontractors, supervisors and site teams
- Monitoring progress against programme and reporting to senior engineering staff
- Identifying and resolving technical issues on site
- Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with project procedures
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong experience delivering structural packages is essential
- Experience with reinforced concrete, foundations, retaining walls, culverts or bridge structures
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Proficient in the use of Leica and/or Trimble surveying equipment
- Good understanding of QA procedures and documentation requirements
- CSCS card (essential)
- Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience working on rail or major infrastructure projects would be advantageous
- HS2 experience is desirable but not essential
