Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join their team based in Swindon. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive health and safety professional who is passionate about driving a positive safety culture and ensuring the highest standards of compliance across multiple construction projects. The Role Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the Senior Health & Safety Advisor will provide expert support, guidance, and leadership to project teams across a range of construction and civil engineering projects. You will play a key role in promoting best practice, ensuring compliance with current legislation, and driving continuous improvement in health, safety, environmental, and wellbeing performance. Key Responsibilities Provide health and safety advice and support to operational teams across multiple construction sites. Undertake regular site inspections, audits, and safety tours. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and statutory requirements. Support project teams in the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS). Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. Produce detailed audit and inspection reports with clear recommendations. Deliver health and safety training, toolbox talks, and briefings. Assist with the development and implementation of health and safety initiatives and campaigns. Support and guide site management teams in achieving project safety objectives. Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance. Maintain health and safety records and ensure accurate reporting of KPIs. Promote behavioural safety and wellbeing initiatives throughout the business. Contribute to ISO 45001 management system compliance and continuous improvement. Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders on health and safety matters. Requirements Essential NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or NEBOSH General Certificate. Membership of IOSH (Graduate, Technical, or Chartered status preferred). Significant experience within the construction and/or civil engineering sector. Strong working knowledge of current UK health and safety legislation. Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Full UK Driving Licence. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Desirable NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification. Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH). Experience working on infrastructure, highways, utilities, rail, or major civil engineering projects. Knowledge of environmental and quality management systems. Experience supporting ISO 45001 accredited businesses
