Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Surveyor to join a major UK infrastructure project at Sizewell C, one of the country’s flagship nuclear developments. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile, long-term project alongside leading Tier 1 contractors and joint ventures within the infrastructure sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all surveying activities across site
  • Establish and maintain site control networks and survey systems
  • Oversee setting out for major civil engineering works
  • Ensure accurate delivery of as-built surveys and QA documentation
  • Manage and mentor a team of surveyors and engineers
  • Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to ensure works meet design specifications
  • Ensure compliance with project standards, including NEC requirements and quality assurance processes

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Lead Surveyor, Senior Surveyor or Engineering Surveyor on major infrastructure projects
  • Strong background in heavy civils, ideally within nuclear, rail, highways or large-scale infrastructure
  • Expertise in setting out, GPS and total stations (Leica or Trimble)
  • Experience working with Tier 1 contractors or on major projects such as HS2, Hinkley Point C or similar
  • Ability to manage teams and coordinate survey activities across complex work packages

Project Environment

Work on Sizewell C, part of the UK’s nuclear new build programme alongside major infrastructure projects. Exposure to leading Tier 1 contractors including organisations such as Balfour Beatty, Kier, Costain, Skanska, BAM Nuttall and VINCI Construction. Long-term infrastructure programme with strong pipeline and career potential.
