Carmichael UK are recruiting for a Site Engineer to join a Tier 1 contractor delivering a major highways project in Gloucestershire. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a high-profile scheme, working on complex reinforced concrete structures with a strong focus on quality and technical delivery.
The Role
You will support the delivery of major structural works, ensuring works are carried out in line with design, specification, and quality standards on a large-scale highways project.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with delivery of major structures packages on a highways scheme
- Interpret and implement structural drawings, including rebar schedules
- Understanding of setting out and dimensional control
- Support quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes
- Produce and maintain: Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), QA documentation, check sheets & site records
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks on: Reinforcement (rebar installation), Formwork and concrete works
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with specifications and standards
- Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and management
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and as-built information
Requirements
Essential:
- Experience as a Site Engineer on Tier 1 or major civils projects
- Strong understanding of reinforced concrete structures and rebar drawings
- Experience in QA / QC processes, inspections, and documentation
- Ability to interpret design drawings and specifications
- Valid CSCS Card
