We are recruiting a reliable and safety-conscious Construction General Operative to join a high-security nuclear construction project. The successful candidate will assist in general site operations, supporting trades, logistics, and site maintenance while adhering to strict health, safety, and security standards.
All applicants must hold a valid CSCS card, BPSS clearance, and Nuclear Security Clearance (SC or CTC), or be eligible to obtain these before starting work.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in general site duties including material handling, loading/unloading, and maintaining clean and safe work areas.
- Support skilled trades and site teams as required across various construction tasks.
- Operate basic tools and equipment safely under supervision.
- Erect and dismantle barriers, signage, and temporary works in compliance with site procedures.
- Follow site safety protocols, including radiological control and environmental protection standards.
- Ensure waste and materials are disposed of correctly and segregated according to nuclear site rules.
- Report any health, safety, or security concerns immediately to supervisors.
- Comply with all security, access control, and confidentiality requirements of the nuclear site.
- Valid CSCS Card – essential.
- BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance – essential.
- Nuclear Security Clearance (SC or CTC) – required or ability to obtain prior to starting.
- Previous experience as a General Operative / Labourer in a construction or industrial environment.
- Awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards (training provided if required).
- Physically fit, punctual, and capable of working in a demanding site environment.
- Reliable and able to follow instructions accurately and safely.
- All candidates must successfully pass security vetting and medical checks before site access.
