Role Overview
The Senior Project Manager will support the delivery of a portfolio of complex infrastructure projects, working closely with the Contract Lead to provide strategic oversight of project delivery. The role requires significant experience in design management, people leadership, and the successful delivery of large-scale, highly regulated engineering or infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of projects from inception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and manage a high-performing team of Project Managers and project delivery teams across a portfolio of projects.
- Support the development of pre-construction planning for new scopes of work.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of operational excellence, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the project portfolio.
- Provide end-to-end oversight and accountability for project delivery, including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Champion health, safety, wellbeing, and environmental performance, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and driving continuous improvement.
- Foster a strong safety culture with a focus on achieving zero lost-time incidents and maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate closely with commercial and supply chain teams from tender stage through project delivery to achieve commercial objectives.
- Promote the effective use of project performance data, reporting tools, and digital technologies to support informed decision-making and improve delivery outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven operational leader with a strong delivery focus.
- Extensive experience successfully managing and delivering multiple complex or critical projects within major infrastructure, engineering, energy, or other highly regulated sectors.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering complex project programmes.
- Sound understanding of construction contract law and standard forms of contract gained through practical experience and formal training.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with clients, stakeholders, project teams, and delivery partners.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and project management software, including planning, scheduling, document management, and contract administration systems.
- Relevant industry certification or site safety accreditation (where applicable).
