We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major Tier 1 highways project in East London, supporting a significant programme of enabling and archaeological works ahead of the main construction phase. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile infrastructure project, taking ownership of setting out activities, quality assurance processes, and supporting the development of junior engineering staff.
Responsibilities
- Carry out accurate setting out for enabling and archaeological works
- Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements
- Produce and maintain QA documentation, including ITPs, check sheets and as-built records
- Conduct site surveys and manage setting out data
- Liaise closely with site management, subcontractors and the wider delivery team
- Identify and resolve technical issues on site
- Support and mentor Junior Engineers and Graduate Engineers
- Ensure works are completed safely and in line with project standards and procedures
- Assist with planning and coordination of daily site activities
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on highways, infrastructure or civil engineering projects
- Strong setting out experience using Leica, Trimble or equivalent equipment
- Proven experience managing QA processes and documentation
- Experience supervising, mentoring or managing junior engineers
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- CSCS Card
- Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
