Carmichael UK is working with a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering a major highways project in London. We are currently seeking a Sub Agent / Assistant Package Manager to support the delivery of key work packages on this high-profile infrastructure scheme. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Sub Agent or a Senior Engineer looking to step up into a package management role within a busy and well-established project team.

The Role

  • Support the management and delivery of highways works, ensuring packages are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of highways work packages from planning through to completion.
  • Assist in managing site teams including Engineers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate site activities and interfaces across the project.
  • Support programme tracking, reporting, and risk management.
  • Oversee engineering activities including setting out, inspections, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Sub Agent, Section Engineer, or Senior Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure.
  • Strong background in highways or major infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with or for a Tier 1 contractor is highly desirable.
  • HNC, HND, or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Good understanding of site operations, programme management, and quality processes.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Right to work in the UK.
