Carmichael UK is recruiting an experienced Quality Engineer to support delivery on a major HS2 infrastructure package in Buckinghamshire. This role will suit a Quality Engineer with a strong background in civil engineering and infrastructure works, who is confident managing quality processes on site and supporting teams to deliver right-first-time outcomes.

As Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining quality standards across site activities, ensuring works are delivered in line with specifications, drawings, and HS2 assurance requirements. You will work closely with site teams, engineers, and subcontractors, providing guidance on QA processes and supporting inspections, audits, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing and maintaining quality documentation and records
  • Supporting the preparation, review, and implementation of ITPs
  • Carrying out site inspections and quality checks
  • Managing NCRs, observations, and close-out actions
  • Supporting audits and compliance with the project Quality Management System
  • Liaising with engineering and construction teams to resolve quality issues
  • Assisting with handover documentation and as-built records
  • Promoting a strong quality culture across site teams
About You
  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer or QA/QC Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Good understanding of ITPs, inspections, and quality assurance processes
  • Experience on major infrastructure or rail projects preferred
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 and project quality systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organised approach
  • Confident communicator, able to work effectively with site teams and stakeholders
  • CSCS card desirable
