Carmichael UK is recruiting for an Assistant Land Surveyor to join a major infrastructure project in Buckinghamshire, supporting delivery works on the HS2 programme. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a surveyor looking to build experience on one of the UK’s largest and most complex civil engineering schemes, working alongside experienced survey and engineering teams.
The Role
As Assistant Land Surveyor, you will support the surveying function across site operations, ensuring accurate data capture and setting out to support construction activities. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with setting out and dimensional control across site
- Supporting topographical and as-built surveys
- Operating surveying equipment including total stations, GPS/GNSS
- Maintaining accurate survey records and site documentation
- Working closely with engineers and site teams to ensure accuracy and quality
- Adhering to HS2, health & safety, and environmental standards at all times
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as an Assistant Land Surveyor, Survey Assistant, or similar
- Exposure to civil engineering or major infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of surveying equipment and techniques
- A strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- A relevant qualification or working towards one in Surveying or Civil Engineering
- HS2 experience (desirable but not essential)
