Carmichael is seeking an experienced Buyer to join the team on a permanent basis in Buckingham.
- Run set up meetings and package criticality assessments.
- Write and get approved Package Acquisition Plans (PAPs).
- Run ‘Compete For’ Expression of Interest (EOI) process.
- Complete Financial and Common Assessment Standard (CAS) Assurance on tenderers and shortlist tenderers.
- Run the Tender process (Quality and Commercial) from inception to completion.
- Prepare Tender comparison (Quality and Commercial).
- Recommend the preferred Subcontractor on a tender recommendation report (TRR).
- Prepare NEC3 Subcontracts with the Commercial team.
- Prepare the Recommendation For Award (RFA) and any business case report ensuring internal approval.
- Assist in onboarding Subcontractors onto Tradex.
- Contract Administration (Encompass & CPA).
- Use Docusign to issue VOs & Subcontracts.
- Cost Comparisons for VO type works or low value items not needing a tender.
- Meet the Buyers / Events.
- Maintain the TES (Procurement Schedule).
- Assist / Support others in the material buying team / SCM team (buyer / assistant buyer).
- Attend any relevant Procurement and Supply Chain team meetings.
- Suggest solutions for process improvements.
- Comply with all corporate procurement processes & procedures.
- Manage procurement against a procurement programme.
- Ensure that capacity of the market is fully considered during the tendering process.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Qualified by experience or academically with A Levels, HNC or a Degree.
- MCIPS (or working towards).
- Experience of working as a Buyer or Senior Buyer within complex Major Infrastructure projects.
- Experience of NEC 3 Subcontracts.
- Infrastructure supplier & product knowledge.
- Self-motivated.
- Organised and good record keeping.
- Team player with great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good time-management skills.
