An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Estimator to join a leading contractor delivering a major water framework. This role will play a key part in supporting the pre-construction and tendering function across a portfolio of water and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates from first principles for water and wastewater projects
  • Review tender documentation including drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
  • Develop robust pricing strategies for bids and framework opportunities
  • Liaise with design, commercial, and operational teams to ensure accurate and competitive submissions
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractor and supplier enquiries and pricing returns
  • Assess project risks and opportunities and incorporate into tender submissions
  • Support bid reviews and ensure all submissions are compliant and commercially competitive
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to drive successful tender outcomes

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within civil engineering or utilities for a tier one or principal contractor within the UK
  • Strong background working on water sector projects (AMP frameworks desirable)
  • Experience pricing works from first principles through to final submission
  • Good understanding of NEC forms of contract
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documentation
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or similar technical discipline
