CarmichaelUK are working with one of the leading joint ventures delivering the HS2 project in Northamptonshire, and we’re looking for an experienced Site Engineer with strong earthworks experience to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key part in delivering one of the UK’s largest infrastructure schemes, involving large-scale cut and fill operations, drainage, bulk earthworks, and enabling works.

Your Role

As a Site Engineer, you’ll be responsible for providing technical and site support to ensure that works are carried out safely, accurately, and efficiently. You’ll be working within a highly skilled engineering team and supporting the Section Engineer and Sub Agent on day-to-day delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting out for earthworks, drainage, and associated civil works
  • Overseeing QA documentation and ensuring compliance with design and specification
  • Working closely with subcontractors and site teams to deliver work packages to programme
  • Preparing method statements, risk assessments, and ITPs
  • Carrying out as-built surveys and maintaining accurate records
  • Promoting a strong safety culture on site
  • Supporting environmental and quality objectives
