Carmichael UK are currently recruiting for an experienced Utilities Site Engineer to join a major infrastructure package on the HS2 project in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of one of the UK’s largest and most high-profile civil engineering projects, supporting critical utilities and infrastructure works across the route. We are looking for a proactive and technically strong engineer with previous experience working on large-scale civil engineering, highways, rail, or utility diversion projects.
Responsibilities
- Setting out and surveying for utilities and infrastructure works
- Managing subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered safely and to programme
- Coordinating utility diversions including water, gas, electric, telecoms, and drainage
- Producing and reviewing RAMS, ITPs, and QA documentation
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Liaising with site teams, designers, and client representatives
- Maintaining accurate site records and as-built information
- Supporting delivery teams with technical engineering expertise
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering or utilities projects
- Experience working on highways, rail, infrastructure, or utility diversion packages
- Competent with setting out equipment including Leica or Trimble
- Strong understanding of QA processes and engineering documentation
- CSCS Card essential
- SMSTS or SSSTS preferred
- NRSWA advantageous
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
