Are you a recent Quantity Surveying graduate/ Junior Quantity Surveyor (1-2 years exp) looking to kick-start your career with a leading construction contractor within the commercial building sector, constructing warehouses, factories, industrial buildings, commercial buildings, shopping centres, data centres etc? We are seeking a motivated Graduate / Junior Quantity Surveyor to join a major international and Tier 1 construction business delivering high-profile projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual who is eager to develop their commercial skills whilst working alongside experienced industry professionals on site.
The Role
Working as part of an established commercial team, you will gain exposure to all aspects of quantity surveying and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle. This role is predominantly site-based, providing valuable hands-on experience on large-scale construction projects.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of valuations and applications for payment
- Supporting the management of subcontractor accounts and payments
- Assisting with cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs
- Helping to monitor project costs and budget performance
- Reviewing and processing subcontractor quotations and variations
- Supporting procurement activities and package management
- Assisting with contract administration and record keeping
- Attending site meetings and liaising with project stakeholders
- Supporting the preparation of final accounts
Requirements
- BSc (Hons) Degree in Quantity Surveying
- Strong desire to build a long-term career in quantity surveying for contractors
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Willingness to work on site and travel as required
- UK right to work, no sponsorship offered
