Carmichael UK is working with a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering the HS2 project in the Aylesbury area. We are seeking an experienced Section Engineer to take responsibility for defined sections of works on this major infrastructure scheme.
The Role
As Section Engineer, you will manage a section of the project, providing technical leadership and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and in line with quality and specification requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a defined section of works on the HS2 project
- Provide technical guidance to Site Engineers and subcontractors
- Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and RAMS
- Oversee quality assurance processes, including ITPs, inspections, and as-built records
- Support health & safety compliance and site inspections
- Coordinate with the site management team, designers, and the wider project team
- Assist with short-term planning, reporting, and resolving technical issues
About You
- Proven experience as a Section Engineer on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong technical and organisational skills
- Experience managing engineers and coordinating subcontractors
- CSCS card (essential), SMSTS desirable
- Proactive and delivery-focused approach
