We are working with a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering some of the UK's most high-profile rail and infrastructure projects. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team on a major rail framework.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a well-established business that offers structured progression, mentoring, and exposure to major projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the management of project costs and commercial reporting.
- Support the preparation of applications for payment and valuations.
- Administer subcontractor accounts, including payments and variations.
- Assist with cost forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Support the preparation and management of compensation events and change control.
- Produce cost reports and commercial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with NEC contracts and company procedures.
- Work closely with operational teams to maximise project profitability.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Graduate Quantity Surveyor.
- Rail project experience preferred (Network Rail, HS2, London Underground, Crossrail, TfL or similar).
- Good understanding of NEC contracts.
- Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced project environment.
