Carmichael UK is working with a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering a major highways project in London. We are currently seeking an experienced Agent / Package Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of key work packages on a high-profile highways project. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established project team and play a pivotal role in delivering complex highways works.

The Role

As Agent / Package Manager, you will be responsible for managing the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of designated highways packages. You will oversee site teams, subcontractors, and programme delivery, ensuring works are completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of highways work packages from planning through to completion
  • Oversee site teams including Sub Agents, Engineers, and subcontractors
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, budget, quality, and safety requirements
  • Coordinate with design, commercial, and client teams
  • Monitor progress and manage risks, interfaces, and constraints
  • Ensure compliance with all project specifications and standards
  • Support reporting, cost control, and programme management

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Agent, Sub Agent, or Package Manager within civil engineering or highways projects
  • Strong background in highways or major infrastructure works
  • Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor is highly desirable
  • HNC, HND, or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Good understanding of programme and commercial awareness
  • Right to work in the UK
