We are now seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Plumbing and Heating Gas Engineer to join our growing team.
The Role
Working across both commercial and domestic projects throughout Scotland, you will be responsible for providing reliable, efficient, and comprehensive plumbing and heating solutions. You will be expected to pre-plan site visits according to customer service level agreements and attend reactive follow-up calls in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Executing commercial projects, including plant room installations, central heating installations, and large-scale boiler servicing and repairs.
- Delivering expert domestic services, ranging from boiler and cylinder installations to complete bathroom replacements and emergency plumbing repairs.
- Assisting in the installation of renewable energy solutions, such as ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps, and solar thermal arrays.
- Carrying out scheduled portable appliance testing (PAT) alongside your standard diagnostic and repair duties.
- Maintaining strict health and safety standards on all sites, including adherence to site-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Essential Requirements
- Gas Safe Registration: You must hold a valid ACS Certificate of Competence to legally work on gas installations. Core modules such as CCN1 (Core Gas Safety), CENWAT (Boilers & Water Heaters), and CPA1 (Analysing) are required.
- Plumbing Qualifications: An NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating, classifying you as a fully qualified plumber.
- Site Certification: A valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) or JIB Blue/Gold card is strictly required to access construction sites.
- Specialist Certificates: You must hold an Unvented Hot Water Systems (UVHW) qualification for pressurised cylinders, and a WRAS (Water Regulations) certificate is highly desirable.
- Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is essential due to the field-based nature of the role.
Desirable: Commercial gas tickets, renewable energy experience, and SSSTS/SMSTS certifications are a strong advantage.
