Key Responsibilities
- To prepare and implement well-structured and progressive coaching sessions, ensuring a high quality, enjoyable coaching experience centred around the needs of the participants
- To help in the provision of high quality, competitive team sports ensuring the maximum participation by students
- Ensure equipment is set up prior to commencement of coaching sessions
- To organise weekly training sessions and attend trials as and when required
- To follow good practice and ensure that activities are carried out within a safe environment complying with health and safety requirements
- To provide advice and guidance to prospective students/players in a supportive manner
- Ensure that sessions are carried out in a safe environment, ensuring the health and safety of himself/herself and persons who are participating in sessions
- To liaise with the Sports Assistant in establishing a full fixture list together with appropriate transport and refereeing arrangements
- To carry out administrative duties as necessary e.g. maintain player registers, also, to keep an accurate log of hours worked and complete a timesheet each month
- To organise the team on match days including selection, kit and first aid arrangements
- To agree to abide by a code of conduct and carry out duties in accordance with Carmel Colleges policies
- To wear appropriate kit and equipment and act as an ambassador for the College and the Basketball programme
- The Governors will appoint staff who are willing and able to contribute to the Catholic ethos of the College
- Each member of the College will take reasonable care for the health and safety of himself/herself and persons who may be affected by his/her omissions at work
- To undertake any other duties as may be assigned commensurate with the grade and overall responsibility level of the post and as changing circumstances may require
