A gentleman from Tycroes requires Personal assistants for 6 hours per week which can be on one day or split between 2 days, evenings or weekends. Days can be negotiable but must be flexible if schedules need to change. To assist a mature music maker with creating music and assisting him to do odd jobs around his home. Would suit someone with an interest in Music Technology. Must be able to use Logic Pro X recording software, with a general knowledge of Apple and recording equipment. Also requires patience to assist him organise himself to do odd repair jobs, so some DIY skills required, also might include some gardening especially over the summer months. It is possible to split this post into two separate roles; music/DIY-gardening. Must be able to drive and use of a car as from time to time he might need to go to meetings. Needs to be caring, understanding, compassionate and responsible. No personal care necessary.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
- Support the employer with recording music, developing ideas and projects using Logic Pro X and Apple computers.
- Assist him to socialise with his friends and attend the Windrush Cymru Project.
- Keep the employer focused whilst he is driving so he does not get confused on the journey.
- Assist with simple repairs around the home, hanging curtain rails, fixing handles, repairing hinges etc.
- Supporting the employer with encouragement in gaining independence.
- Supporting the employer to develop independent living skills.
- To provide companionship in the employer's home, including engaging in conversation with them and providing them with social interaction.
- Encouraging the employer to attend appointments.
- Ensuring the employer's safety at all times during your working hours.
- To carry out any other reasonable tasks that are requested by the employer during your working hours.
- To ensure compliance with Data Protection Act.
- Be mindful of safeguarding issues, and feedback any concerns to Carmarthenshire County Council immediately on (01267 228751).
- Be responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should the employer need medical assistance.
