About us

Carlton Lodge is an Activity Centre based in Carlton Miniott, providing activities for groups of all ages and abilities, as well as a residential experience for groups engaging in onsite or offsite activities or simply using our facilities.

Hours of work and Wage:

  • £15ph
  • The hours of work would be between 7am-7pm, involving some weekend work and holiday cover.
  • This position will mainly cover evening meal shifts with some breakfast cover.

Skills and experience:

  • Cooking and basic baking skills, with the ability to learn quickly and a practical approach to work.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, individually, and possess a mature outlook.
  • Previous experience necessary.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and the new allergen legislation introduced in December 2014.
  • Passionate about food and understanding the importance of good quality home-cooked food for our customers.

Job purpose:

  • Provision of a professional catering service.
  • Provide the highest standard of cleanliness within the centre.
  • Assist in the provision of a professional housekeeping service.

Main Duties:

  • Food preparation and cooking.
  • Monitoring and ordering stock and keeping track of supplies.
  • Opening and closing the kitchen.
  • Keeping food prep areas clean and hygienic.
  • Assisting in the cleaning of the kitchen and ensuring that service levels are maintained for residential and day groups throughout their stay.
  • Assisting the Facilities Supervisor and Manager when necessary.
  • Cleaning and maintaining fixtures, fittings, and furnishings, reporting any defects arising.
  • Ensuring all areas are adequately stocked with supplies.
  • Assisting the Facilities Manager in the maintenance of the buildings (e.g., deep cleaning and painting/decorating during quiet periods).

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: £15.00 per hour
