Position Overview
Carlton le Willows Academy is looking to appoint a Head of Learning and Teaching Assistant (HLTA) on a full‑time, temporary basis until August 2027.
Responsibilities
- Complement teachers’ delivery of the curriculum and support the development of other support staff, pupils and academy policies.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to assist in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.
- Supervise whole classes during the short‑term absence of teachers.
- Provide support to pupils, teachers and the academy to raise standards of achievement, utilising advanced knowledge and skills in planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes, and encouraging pupils to become independent learners.
- Support pupil welfare and inclusion of pupils in all aspects of academy life.
- HLTA needed for the Enhanced Provision Unit with a specialism in Science.
- Salary & Hours
- Salary: Grade F Points 14 to 19 (£29,540 to £32,061 Full Time Equivalent) subject to pro‑rata.
- Minimum actual pro‑rata salary per annum: £25,520.47.
- Hours: 37 hours per week / Term Time only plus 5 days (39 weeks) / Temporary.
