The Carlton Club, one of St James's most prestigious Private Members Clubs, is seeking a passionate and hands-on Assistant Banqueting Manager to join our exceptional Food & Beverage team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who takes pride in delivering excellent service and enjoys being actively involved in day-to-day operations.
Hours of Work: Minimum 40 hours per week, typically over 5 days (Monday-Friday), but flexibility is required, including weekends when needed. Start and finish times vary according to a weekly rota, and you will generally be expected to be available for both lunchtime and evening service throughout the week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Banqueting Manager and the team in delivering exceptional service to our Members and their Guests
- Being actively involved in setting up and preparing rooms and tables for service according to function sheets and event details
- Supervising events, leading and assisting staff members, and ensuring all last-minute changes are handled efficiently
- Training and developing banqueting staff members, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork
- Assisting with administrative duties, including scheduling the weekly rota in collaboration with the Banqueting Manager
- Supervising assigned events and liaising with the Events Office and Kitchen on changes to original instructions, ensuring that all changes are made seamlessly
- Assisting other outlets when required, such as Morning/Drawing Rooms and Bars
