About the Role:
As a Sensory Panellist, you’ll be tasting exciting products across iconic brands such as Tango, Jimmy’s, Plenish, and Robinsons as well as exploring new and innovative concepts before they reach consumers. The data generated by your work will be used to support key business decisions such as product optimisation, supplier approval and shelf life. You’ll be part of a great team of 14 sensory panellists, so good teamwork and collaboration are essential. We value a supportive, kind, respectful environment where everyone contributes towards shared goals. A typical day involves sampling drinks from a range of our brands and assessing various attributes, such as sweetness, sourness, and the delivery of fruit flavours. No two days are ever the same. One day you could be diving into an exciting Poppi project, and the next you’ll be tasting tonics or sampling innovative mocktails.
Role Responsibilities:
- Engages in product testing by providing detailed descriptions of various drink products, assessing their appearance, aroma, flavour, mouthfeel, and aftertaste.
- Actively participate in sensory panel discussions to describe product characteristics, creating definitions, and using scales to define the intensity of characteristics.
- Accurately record product scoring data using specialist sensory software on an iPad.
- Take part in product and sensory training sessions and apply learning effectively within day-to-day activities.
Experience and Key Attributes:
- No previous sensory experience required — just a positive, can‑do attitude.
- Able to commit to a long‑term, part‑time opportunity based in Hemel Hempstead.
- Available to work 4 days per week, Monday to Thursday, for 3 hours each morning.
- Passionate about working with some of Britain’s best‑loved brands, including Tango, 1664, Robinsons, J2O, Brooklyn Brewery and Plenish.
- Demonstrates curiosity and enthusiasm for learning about products and sensory evaluation, with the confidence to share opinions and perceptions effectively.
- Has no allergies, medical conditions, or dietary restrictions that may affect product evaluation.
