Carlsberg Britvic is the largest multi-beverage supplier in the UK and is home to some of the most iconic and popular beers & soft drinks, including Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, 1664, Poretti and Brooklyn to ale favourites such as Hobgoblin and Wainwright. For soft drinks, Carlsberg Britvic’s brands include J2O, Robinsons, Tango and London Essence along with the licence rights to the Pepsi portfolio in the UK including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, Lipton Iced Tea and Rockstar Energy.

Carlsberg Britvic in the On Trade supply a range of products across Wine, Spirits, Beer, Cider & Soft Drinks to Freetrade and National direct customers with the ambition of supporting our Core Brands business. These products are sourced from suppliers into the secondary distribution network and delivered to customers along with Beer and Soft Drinks. The Third Party Brands team manage a range of circa 1900 SKUs from 180 suppliers.
About the role:
We are now recruiting for a Category Executive to manage the end-to-end support for our Third Party categories. Reporting into the Category Controller, this role will be responsible for:
Role Responsibilities:
- Support Category Managers with supplier relationships, meetings, actions, and third-party category initiatives.
- Produce and analyse category performance reports, including sales, margin, distribution, promotional effectiveness, and market trends.
- Develop market and category insights across beer, cider, wine, spirits, and soft drinks to support ranging, sourcing, pricing, and promotional decisions.
- Manage wholesale and cost price changes, ensuring pricing accuracy and validation of internal models.
- Resolve supplier pricing and invoicing queries, partnering with Finance to ensure compliance with agreed terms.
- Track over-rider agreements, promotional spend, volume targets, and budget risks, maintaining accurate financial reporting.
- Support the planning, forecasting, evaluation, and governance of promotional activity to ensure alignment with category objectives.
- Coordinate supplier contracts and compliance requirements, working closely with Legal and Category teams.
- Develop collaborative relationships across Sales, Supply Chain, and Demand Planning to inform sourcing decisions and maintain product availability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver great customer outcomes through effective category and stock management.
Experience and Key Attributes:
- Extensive experience within the drinks industry, with a solid understanding of category and market dynamics across soft drinks, wines and spirits.
- Solid relationship-building skills, with experience collaborating effectively with internal teams, customers and suppliers.
- Self-motivated, comfortable with changing priorities, and able to thrive in a frequently changing environment.
- Highly structured and numerate, with the ability to interpret, review and validate data accurately.
- High attention to detail, with a disciplined and quality-focused approach.
- Commercially aware, with a good understanding of financial principles and business performance drivers.
- Skilled decision-maker, able to balance pace with sound judgement.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, BI reporting tools and SAP.
