Location: Northampton, GB

Job Length: Permanent – Full Time

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am-4pm, 35 hours per week

We are now recruiting for a Laboratory Technician at our Northampton Brewery. This role will report into the Laboratory Supervisor (Chemical) and will conduct chemical and microbiological sampling, analysis according to a sample plan and assist with any required maintenance of lab equipment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Complete chemical and microbiological samples and analysis according to the sample plan.
  • Write and coordinate effective and replicable SOP’s/OPLs that ensure consistency of approach, validation and verification through auditing.
  • Calibration and maintenance of quality instrumentation within the lab and production areas.
  • Carry out general duties within the laboratory.
  • Recording data entry and reporting of analysis.
  • Ensure quality laboratories are kept in a high level of hygiene and 5S standards are maintained.
  • Support with laboratory purchasing and stock control.
  • Carry out sensory sessions where required.

Experience and Key Attributes

  • Previous experience within a laboratory environment is desired.
  • Understanding and knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Motivated to take initiative, able to work alone when necessary, and collaborate well with others.
  • Methodical approach and problem solving.
  • Comfortable managing shifting priorities and reprioritising work as needed.
