The Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist is responsible for supporting the planning, design, delivery, and evaluation of learning and development initiatives that enhance employee skills, performance, and career growth. The role works closely with business leaders, People & Culture colleagues, subject matter experts, and external providers to ensure employees have access to effective learning opportunities that support organisational objectives.

The successful candidate will have a passion for learning, strong design and facilitation skills, and be able to work across multiple projects with support from our L&D lead. This role will be a hybrid, field-based position, with 3 days office/site based. There will be travel and occasional hours flexing to meet business needs.

Role Responsibilities
  • Training Delivery & Facilitation
    • Facilitate induction, Carlsberg Group training initiatives, management & leadership development, soft skills workshops, and other learning sessions as required.
    • Support on the execution of existing projects i.e. Advancing leadership programmes.
    • Support virtual, classroom-based, and blended learning delivery.
    • Encourage learner participation and engagement during training activities.
    • Provide coaching and guidance to learners where appropriate.
    • Partner with our Early Careers business function to design and deliver learning pathways for our graduate programmes and apprenticeships.
  • Learning Content Development
    • Design and develop learning materials, presentations, guides, e-learning modules, and job aids.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to create engaging and relevant learning content.
    • Ensure learning materials align with adult learning principles and organisational standards.
    • Update and maintain existing learning resources.
  • Evaluation & Reporting
    • Collect and analyse training feedback and evaluation data.
    • Measure learning effectiveness using established evaluation methods.
    • Recommend improvements based on learner feedback and performance metrics.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build positive relationships with employees, managers, leaders and People & Culture colleagues.
    • Partner with different business functions, understanding their learning needs and respond to learning-related enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
    • Support internal communications promoting learning initiatives and resources.
    • Coordinate with external training providers and consultants when required.
    • Stay informed about emerging learning trends, technologies, and best practices.
    • Identify opportunities to improve learning processes, tools, and learner experiences.
    • Contribute to projects that enhance organisational learning culture and employee development.
  • Learning Needs Support
    • Assist in conducting learning needs analyses and skills gap assessments.
    • Gather feedback from employees and managers to identify development opportunities.
    • Support the implementation of development plans aligned with business needs.
Experience and Key Attributes
  • Experience in Learning & Development design and facilitation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop valued relationships – with an engaging style.
  • Applies initiative and creativity to resolve problems.
  • Proactive and forward thinking; seeks opportunities to drive improvements.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, yet agile and responsive.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbally and in writing).
  • Highly team orientated along with the ability to work in strong collaboration with others.
  • Experience working in an FMCG/Manufacturing would be desirable.
  • Evidence of strong stakeholder management.
  • Experience with using digital learning design platforms/solutions would be desirable.
Qualifications
  • Relevant professional certifications are advantageous i.e. Coaching, CIPD L5+, MBTI etc.
