About the role
We are now recruiting for a Loans Investment Manager to join our Credit and Loans team. Reporting into the Senior Loan Investment Manager.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage the timely assessment and processing of loan proposals, ensuring high service standards.
- Oversee all lending administration and system activities, maintaining accuracy and efficiency across key reporting cycles.
- Ensure full compliance with lending policies, regulatory requirements, audit standards, and screening procedures.
- Serve as the main contact for loan inquiries, offering clear guidance to customers and stakeholders.
- Support and coach colleagues on loan applications, renegotiations, accounting matters, and lending best practice.
- Review complex lending proposals and contribute to pricing and credit decision-making forums.
- Build positive customer relationships, attending meetings both in person or virtually where required to support informed lending decisions.
- Monitor loan performance, identifying risks and recommending actions to maximise investment returns and contractual compliance.
- Manage debt exposure and recovery strategies, supporting provision reviews and risk mitigation activity.
- Manage compliant delivery of indirect investment processes, working closely with Sales and Legal teams.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Credit, Recoveries, and Legal teams to facilitate effective lending outcomes.
- Provide support to the Senior Loan Investment Manager and contribute to wider team objectives.
Experience and Key Attributes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365; SAP.
- Demonstrated commercial lending experience, with solid financial analysis and risk assessment skills.
- Commercially focused and decisive, with the ability to make well-informed choices and clearly explain recommendations.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
- Self-motivated, organised and responsive, with the ability to prioritise effectively and thrive in a busy environment.
- Solid problem-solving skills, with a results-oriented approach and the confidence to work with minimal supervision.
- Good understanding of lending regulations, legal compliance, anti-money laundering and fraud prevention requirements.
- Committed to continuous improvement, personal development and helping others perform effectively.
- Experience working directly with customers to gather information, assess opportunities and support lending decisions.
- Full UK driving licence required.
