Job Length: Permanent

Working Hours: 48 hours per week, Monday to Friday predominantly, flexible to work any 5 days in a 7 day period. Start times from 5am onwards.

About the Role:

The Driver's Mate reports to the Transport Manager and supports driver and warehouse teams in loading/unloading stock, planning efficient traffic routes, building relationships with customers and other departments, and maintaining health and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the driver and warehouse teams in loading/unloading of stock.
  • Supporting the driver with the most efficient traffic routes to help you both get to each location and back home as quickly and safely as possible.
  • Building brilliant working relationships with customers and other departments.
  • Holding health and safety at the forefront of all processes.

Experience and Key Attributes:

  • Prior experience working as a driver’s mate, drayman or within a warehouse desirable however not required.
  • Manual handling experience and/or training desirable, however full training will be provided during induction.
  • Knowledge of local region.
