About the Role

This role leads the end‑to‑end Quality & Food Safety agenda across operations and the wider supply chain, ensuring that all products, processes, and partners meet the highest standards. You will oversee material suppliers, co‑manufacturers, and co‑packers, acting as the key operational guardian of food safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. You will manage and develop a small team of Quality Specialists, driving performance through clear KPIs, coaching, and project‑based initiatives. A core part of the role is ensuring that quality and food safety requirements are consistently met without negatively impacting operational efficiency, including OEE.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead Quality & Food Safety across operations, suppliers, co‑manufacturers and co‑packers to ensure all standards are consistently met.
  • Drive Compliance with food safety legislation and recognised standards including BRC, ISO and internal requirements.
  • Manage & Develop a Team of Quality Specialists, supporting KPI delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Champion Supplier Quality as the main site interface with Group Supplier Quality, ensuring all COM expectations are achieved.
  • Lead RCA & Improvement to eliminate repeat issues, strengthen KPIs and reduce Cost of Poor Quality.
  • Own Audits & Governance by conducting internal and supplier audits and ensuring follow‑up actions are completed.
  • Support Innovation by providing quality and food safety expertise to NPD and innovation projects.
  • Oversee Hygiene & Standards through effective programme management and cross‑functional collaboration.

Experience and Key Attributes required

  • Demonstrate strong leadership with a proven track record in change management and driving quality improvements.

  • Communicate with impact across all organisational levels and externally with suppliers, showing strong influence and clarity.
  • Build excellent stakeholder relationships and collaborate effectively across functions and sites.
  • Apply specialist knowledge in supplier food safety and Quality Management Systems including BRC, ISO 9000, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, TACCP and VACCP.
  • Show resilience and proactive challenge when addressing issues, risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Manage multiple workstreams using a risk‑based approach to prioritisation and delivery.
  • Meet essential qualifications including a Diploma in Brewing or Packaging, a relevant degree or equivalent industry experience, alongside knowledge of ISO 9000, BRC/GFSI, FEMAS, HACCP (Advanced), trained auditor status and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Current UK Working Rights.
