About the role:
Reporting into the Site Brewery Director, this role is responsible for facilitating improvement workshops, delivering training, and supporting department and line managers across the site. You will provide coaching on the Carlsberg Excellence programme, helping teams embed best practices that ensure process stability and focused improvements. By reducing losses and enhancing performance, you’ll play a key role in boosting site efficiency and building a culture of continuous improvement.
Role Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in shaping a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement, with the opportunity to improve site performance
- Facilitate the Gemba Kaizen process, allowing teams to pinpoint waste, refine workflows, and realize efficiency advancements.
- Coordinate our quarterly CarlEx Foundations assessments across all departments, leading to meaningful improvement and ensuring continuous operational excellence at the site.
- Assume responsibility for gap-closure actions, working closely with teams to embed sustainable standards and best practices.
- Train and coach employees at all levels on all aspects of the CarlEx Foundations, building capability and shaping a culture of continuous improvement across the site.
- Develop and mentor CarlEx Ambassadors—including Process Engineers, Technical Engineers and Line/Area Managers—to enhance their site-wide CI competence.
- Act as the lead coach in applying CarlEx methodology to our Finding Our Journey (FOJ) initiatives and events, enabling teams to deliver impactful change.
- Champion the use of CarlEx tools and techniques to support Carlsberg Operating Manual (COM) gap closure and performance improvement.
- Serve as the site’s process owner for structured Problem Solving (RCA), guiding teams through root-cause analysis on critical issues.
- Build, implement, and coach our Zone Ownership Programme—including 5S, standard documentation, visual standards, and loss-reduction activities—to create high-quality workplace organisation.
- Represent the site during Western Europe regional assessments and benchmarking visits, showcasing best practices and learning from leading operations across the network.
Experience and Key Attributes:
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a Continuous Improvement role.
- Proficient background in Lean, TPM, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement programmes.
- Prior experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Effective at implementing change and executing improvement initiatives for optimal results.
- Skilled trainer and facilitator, able to deliver workshops and coaching sessions effectively.
- Experienced in analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to teach structured RCA methods.
- Skilled in planning and creating clear, visual action plans that enhance the improvement agenda.
- Current Full UK Working Rights.
