Multi Skilled Engineer
Location: Northampton Brewery, NN1 1PZ

Reporting to the Process Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in maintaining, improving and optimising our production assets. You’ll collaborate across engineering and production teams to keep our operation running safely, efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- System optimisation – work with engineering teams to improve performance, reduce downtime and drive technical improvements.
- Mechanical & electrical maintenance – diagnose and repair faults using advanced tools and techniques.
- Safety & compliance – ensure full adherence to LOTO, electrical safety and environmental standards, maintaining detailed CBM records.
- Infrastructure support – maintain site utilities and electrical distribution systems to ensure reliable operation.
- Team collaboration – partner with production teams and mentor apprentices, supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lean practices – support 5S, Kaizen and Autonomous Maintenance initiatives.
- Condition monitoring – conduct vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound and other predictive maintenance activities.
Experience and Key Attributes
- Recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Experience in a multi‑skilled maintenance role within FMCG, manufacturing or industrial environments
- Hands‑on CBM experience
- Advantageous certifications in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics or rotating machinery
- Experience using CMMS systems
- Strong mechanical fault‑finding skills
- Fluent English (written & verbal)
