About the Role: The Category Executive will translate category strategies into commercial execution, working closely with the Senior Category Manager to deliver strategies in outlets against market maps and expectations for distribution, range, space, and rate of sale driving propositions. This role is central to planning and execution of commercial initiatives, requiring strong collaboration across marketing, category strategy, insights, commercial operations, and sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Strategy & Vision: Contribute to annual operating category plans, driving execution against vision and range & merchandising. Translate consumer, shopper, and market trends into strategy to identify growth opportunities and competitive advantage. Contribute to the category roadmap with customer-specific insights and prioritise tactical initiatives for maximum impact. Champion execution of space, range, distribution, and promotional tactics in outlet, ensuring consistency with market maps.
  • Customer Thought Leadership & Execution: Build and maintain key customer relationships, acting as the voice of the category and embedding Carlsberg Britvic’s thought leadership. Support execution of the customer/channel category roadmap via range reviews and initiative identification. Develop category selling stories and tools, leading customer immersions to engage and influence strategy adoption. Support delivery of category building initiatives and trials with customers. Assist Category Managers on strategic agendas across hot topics such as health and wellness, sustainability, DRS, and HFSS.
  • Team Role & Capability Building: Support a collaborative, excellence-focused team culture. Champion continuous improvement and shared learning across the broader function. Implement daily development plans to improve personal standards. Promote category expertise to other functions, enhancing overall impact.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as connector between Insights, Category Strategy, Sales, and Brand/Channel operations teams. Provide inputs into business cases across NPD and EPD, offering customer-level category insights. Evaluate impact of actions and incorporate learnings into future planning.
  • Performance Tracking & Learning: Support development and delivery of range reviews and planograms. Track performance against distribution, range, and space targets; apply learnings to future planning. Translate insights into forward-facing planning recommendations.
  • Budgets: Complete and submit expenses punctually.

Key Performance Measures:

  • Deliver volume and value growth targets agreed through AOP.
  • Win market share via improved distribution, range, and space.
  • Improve results in the Advantage Group Survey and perfect store measures.
  • Enhance employee engagement scores and feedback.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in FMCG, retail, or category/insights roles.
  • Exposure to the category management process and direct customer interaction is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of space planning tools (e.g., JDA) and loyalty platforms advantageous.

Qualifications: Degree (or equivalent) in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field.
