Area Relief Security Officer – West Yorkshire
Reports to: Contract Security Manager
Hours: Varied – 06:00 to 01:00, Monday to Sunday
Shift Pattern: No set pattern
Rate of pay: £12.60 – £13.60 per hour, depending on role
We have an exciting opportunity for Area Relief Security Officers to join our team as Area relief officers at bus stations in West Yorkshire. This will cover sites including Pontefract, Castleford, Huddersfield, Leeds, Dewsbury, Bradford, Halifax & Keighley, with responsibilities including holidays and sickness coverage, with potential to lead to a full-time permanent role.
The ideal candidate will have a driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle to commute to bus stations.
Our Client
With sites across West Yorkshire, you will work as part of a site-based team contributing toward the safe and positive environments within the bus stations managed by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
Purpose of the Role
To ensure all visitors at bus stations receive a welcoming, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly service, promoting the West Yorkshire Combined Authority by providing a safe environment for all to enjoy.

- Have an enthusiastic demeanour at all times

- Ability to work with all partner Service providers to present a unified team
- Exceptional customer service skills; able to assist visitors in a helpful, courteous and confident manner
- Good communication skills; able to communicate clearly and logically in face-to-face situations
- Appreciation of safe working practices with ability to implement company policy and procedures and ensure adherence
- Personal presentation to a high standard at all times
Key Responsibilities
- Be proactive to ensure expected standards of the Combined Authority bus stations and staff are met
- Respond to incidents, situations and problems promptly
- Prevent acts that may cause offence or distress to patrons and monitor health and safety of areas
- Move on any buskers, beggars and rough sleepers
- Prevent cyclists from riding or chaining bicycles within the premises
- Provide local transport information to station users
General Responsibilities
- Build positive relationships with the client and stakeholders of the Combined Authority
- Ensure all client queries and complaints are dealt with in a timely and effective manner; keep the Contract Security Manager & Bus Station Manager (Client) fully informed
- Be responsible for your uniform and ensure it is clean and in good condition
