The role
Carlisle Support Services is seeking a Contract Manager to monitor, co-ordinate and direct the train cleaning operation at five sites across the West Midlands Trains network. The main focus of the role will be management of the contract deliverables, by ensuring that the available resources are deployed in a manner which enables the KPI performance criteria to be achieved on a monthly basis.
Your core role will include but not be limited to the following activities:
• Contribute to the Carlisle period report by providing information that is needed for the development and production of this report.
• Attend the weekly and monthly review meetings with the key stakeholders.
• Maintain regular and detailed communication with the client to update them on service delivery successes and challenges .
• Ensure that the service provided meets the specified contractual requirements – delivery through the effective deployment and management of resources
• Develop an effective working relationship with the client, ensuring they are satisfied with the service provided, while exploring and exploiting opportunities for additional revenue .
• Provide leadership and demonstrate role model behaviours in leading and motivating his/her team.
• Maintain up to date operational files at each site. Files should include Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments, Insurance Certificates and all relevant memorandums.
• Deliver a prompt and adequate response to faults at the customer\’s premises in line with company procedures and contractual requirements .
• Familiarity with and availability of all equipment required for the delivery of the service, especially in relation to mechanical equipment, uniforms and personal protective equipment .
• Ensure the team fully understands the escalation procedures for incidents on the customer premises, in order to meet obligations under the contract and/or legislation. i.e. Health & Safety at Work act.
• Conduct 1-2-1\’s with the team using the approved Carlisle documentation.
• Mentor and develop the existing team so they have the skill sets to advance their careers.
• Ensure the supervisors undertake the agreed level of audits on a weekly basis.
• To ensure that written confirmation is received for all additional services provided in accordance with the contractual agreement . All Instructions should be received prior to the commencement of the services unless authorised by the Regional Manager.
• Ensure the financial resources are managed in accordance with the agreed budgets.
• Record all shifts worked and pay rates, on the companies chosen time and attendance system.
The ideal candidate
• Strong commercial business acumen.
• Financial awareness enables a full understanding of budgets, P&L and cash flow.
• A proven track record within the rail cleaning sector (desirable)
• A passion for ensuring excellent service delivery.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of Health and Safety in the rail sector (desirable)
• Demonstrable training and mentoring skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills that enable positive and meaningful relationships to be developed and maintained .
• Demonstrable ability to generate additional profitable revenue.
• IT Skills – computer literate and able to use of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint
Desirable
• Degree level qualification or equivalent – recommended requirement
• Successful Operational Management Experience in large business(es)
• Cleaning or FM experience
• Rail industry experience
• Full UK driving license
• Sentinel PTS
Monday to Friday night shifts
Successful candidates will be required to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes.
This could include the following: passport / driving licence / utility bill dated in the last 3 months / HMRC letter / original bank statement / original payslip / birth certificate / a valid share code.
