Our client, one of the UK’s leading dedicated contract beverage canning and packaging facilities is looking to recruit a Head of Technical to join their growing business.
Reporting to the Site Director, this person will be responsible for leading the team and supporting all aspects of Product Quality responsibility for the Site.
Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the site, whilst quality is kept to the highest standards and ensuring customer requirements are met.
To implement the strategy for Technical and Quality.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Health and Safety & Environment
- Ensuring the Compliance to defined standards and compliance to the Company Health and safety Policy.
- Monitor to ensure 100% compliance with the Site Health and Safety Plan
- To ensure that all Technical employees are competent to do their work and appropriate training is provided;
- To receive reports and act proactively on all information and recommendations from various parties on all aspects of Health and Safety in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work etc.
Act 1974 and other statutory enactments, codes of practices etc. that may be issued from time to time;
Quality
- Upholds the company’s quality standards
- Ensure the production process is managed through the production manager to the defined analytical parameters, quality plans, process control and cleaning schedules
Quality & Technical Performance
- Lead multi-disciplinary team within Quality Department.
- Lead team to deliver expert support to manufacturing on measurement of raw materials, product, process and packaging standards.
People
- Ensure training is completed to ensure a safe and efficient operation is maintained whilst keep track of training budget.
- Develop a team that is motivated and flexible in responding to the changing needs of the customer and the consumer.
- Degree qualification or equivalent experience
- IOSH safety qualification as a minimum
Experience
- Previous experience in Manufacturing and Quality.
- At least 5 years of Managing a Quality department.
- Proven track record of managing change to achieve results.
